The Myth of Neutral Platforms
"There’s no such thing as a neutral platform."
- Safiya Noble
TL;DR
Some platforms claim neutrality, but neutrality is a choice—and it often benefits the status quo. At LiveImpact.io, we’ve made a different choice: to design a platform that intentionally counts real-world actions for good.
Neutral Is Not the Default
When a platform claims to be “neutral,” it usually means it avoids taking a stance—on what matters, what gets seen, and what gets counted. But neutrality isn’t absence. It’s absence of intention.
Social platforms don’t track your vote, your boycott, your food pantry donation—because they weren’t built to. That’s a design choice.
Intentional by Design
LiveImpact.io makes a different choice: we track real-world civic actions on purpose. Not because they trend, but because they matter.
We’re not neutral. We’re transparent. We count what people do, not what they post. And we believe platforms should be accountable to the kind of world they help build.
Because the Status Quo Has a Platform
In a world shaped by attention economies, not acting is a form of support—for whatever systems already dominate. If you don’t count the people doing good, the narrative belongs to those who shout the loudest.
LiveImpact.io is here to rebalance the equation. Not with noise, but with numbers. And not with performance, but participation.
"Social media rewards performance. We reward participation. Because what you do should matter more than what you share."
- Rick Zwetsch
